How to get an estimate signed on your phone
Stop chasing customers for a yes. Get the estimate approved and signed before you leave the job, then turn it into an invoice with one tap.
A signed estimate protects you before you buy materials or start work. Here is how to get one signed on your phone while you're still with the customer, using Invoice Maker for Android.
Step by step
- Open the Estimates tab and tap New estimate.
- Pick the client and, if you like, set a Valid until date so the price doesn't stay open forever.
- Add the work and materials with prices. Add a discount or notes and terms (for example payment terms or a deposit) if you need them, then tap Save.
- Tap Get customer signature. Hand your phone to the customer: they type their name, sign with a finger and tap I approve.
- Tap Share signed PDF to text or email them a copy with their signature, name and the date and time on it.
- When the job is done, tap Make invoice. The approved items become an invoice, so you don't type anything twice.
What to put in the notes and terms
- What's included, and what isn't (for example "haul-away not included").
- How long the price is good for.
- Deposit amount and when the rest is due.
- How changes are handled ("extra work is quoted separately before it starts").

Is a signature on a phone legally binding?
In the US, electronic signatures are generally valid under the federal E-SIGN Act and state laws. Some contracts have extra rules, so check what applies to your work.
Does the customer need the app?
No. They sign on your phone, and you send them the signed PDF by text or email.
